The cleaner brings a soaking tub, products and hand tools, sets up beside the cooker and leaves the oven ready to use. No part of the appliance leaves the house. Added to a move-out clean, the same oven costs less.

If you are not sure which row is yours, measure across the front of the cooker. Most built-in and freestanding ovens are 60 cm wide and sit in the standard rows. Once the width reaches 90 cm, the oven is priced as a wide single or as a range, depending on whether it has one cavity or several.
Hobs, extractors and the bundle prices
Booked alone, a hob or a hood comes in under the £67 starting price for one-off work, which is why most people add it to the oven. The two bundles price all three together: £117 alongside a single oven and £143 alongside a double.
On a gas hob the pan supports and burner caps go into the tub with the oven parts, and the hob top is cleaned around each burner. A ceramic hob has its burnt rings taken off with a flat scraper and is then polished. Extractor hoods are degreased outside and underneath. Metal mesh filters soak with everything else; charcoal filters cannot be washed and need replacing, so it helps to have a spare ready if yours is due.
How the oven is cleaned in your kitchen
Everything that comes out of the oven comes out first: shelves, shelf runners, the grill pan, baking trays and a fan cover if it unscrews. These go into the tub of hot water and cleaning solution on your kitchen floor and soak. Meanwhile the cleaner turns to the inside of the oven: the roof, the side walls, the back panel and the base, all by hand, then the outer door glass and the rubber seal around the door.
Many oven doors come apart so the inner panes can be cleaned. Some are sealed or glued, and on those the glass between the panes is left alone because forcing the door open can crack it. The cleaner checks your model before trying. When the soaked parts are ready they are scrubbed, rinsed, dried and fitted back, and the floor and worktop around the cooker are wiped down. The oven should be cold when the cleaner arrives, so turn it off well before, and clear the worktop beside it.
The add-on rate with an end of tenancy clean
Book the oven together with an end of tenancy clean and the price drops to £31 (single) or £62 (double or range). The method does not change. The cleaner is already at the address for the move-out clean, which is why the oven is cheaper as an extra on that job. Mention the oven when you book the move-out, because the tub has to come with the cleaner and the visit runs longer. On a deep clean of a lived-in home, the oven is added at the standard prices in the table above.
Questions about oven cleaning
Does someone have to stay in while the oven is cleaned?
The cleaner needs letting in, and it is worth being back at the end to see the finished oven. In between you can work in another room or go out, as long as the kitchen is left free.
Can the inner glass of every oven door be cleaned?
Only on doors built to come apart. On a sealed door the cleaner does the outside face and the face you can reach with the door open, and leaves the sealed gap between the panes alone.
Is the hob included in the oven cleaning price?
The oven price covers the oven only. A gas hob adds £28 and a ceramic one £23. The bundles at £117 and £143 take in the hob and the extractor hood along with the oven.
