Carpet cleaning in Hounslow is booked room by room, £43 for a living room and £41 for a flight of stairs, and a two-seat sofa done during that visit adds £57.

More Hounslow households rent than own. The 2021 Census found 30.9% renting privately and 21.0% from a social landlord, against 45.7% owners, and 45.8% of all households living in flats, most of them (37.4%) in purpose-built blocks. The houses are mostly semis (28.6%) and terraces (20.5%), and detached houses are rare at 4.9%.

For carpets and upholstery that adds up to a lot of tenancy changeovers, a lot of bedroom carpet in blocks of flats and a good many staircases in the semis between Hounslow West and Feltham. It also makes parking the first thing to settle before a visit, which is why that section comes first below.

Unloading and parking for the carpet cleaner in Hounslow

The extraction machine, hoses and solution go in by hand, so the first job is getting them to your door. Hounslow lets a driver load and unload on a single or double yellow line for up to 40 minutes, provided no loading ban is marked. In a resident bay or a pay-to-park bay, loading may take as long as it needs. The cleaner can stop outside, carry everything in and then move to a proper space.

For that space, a resident inside a controlled zone can apply for visitor permits, each one good for 30 sessions of an hour, with a limit of ten permits in 12 months. Applications go in on a paper form, so sort the permit out well before the day. Some homes cannot get permits at all: Hounslow has barred certain properties, mostly new builds, when it granted planning for them. If yours is one of them, tell us, because the cleaner will need a pay-to-park bay instead. Over 4,800 of Hounslow’s paid spaces accept PayByPhone. What the cleaner spends on parking appears on your invoice at cost, and never above £40.

Licensed shared houses in Hounslow

From 11 December 2025, Hounslow has required a licence for every HMO shared by three or more people who belong to two households or more, under an additional scheme set to end on 10 December 2030; the national mandatory scheme still covers the larger HMOs of five or more. Since September 2023 an Article 4 direction across the borough has also put planning permission in the way of converting a family home into a small HMO. A new or renewed licence is charged as a base fee plus a sum for each household in the house.

Shared houses wear their carpets on the stairs and landing first. When a room changes hands, the useful booking is that tenant’s bedroom carpet at £36 and the mattress at £35, with the stairs added when the whole house turns over. At the end of a full let, put the carpets on the end of tenancy clean booking and they drop to £29 per bedroom, with the living room at £36. Furnished lets can add mattress cleaning to that visit.

Carpet cleaning in Hounslow

Hounslow West, the council’s appraisal says, is mostly terraces and semis of two storeys, built between the wars or soon after 1945, with big trading estates further west and Heathrow’s aircraft noise loud enough to have brought sound-proofing schemes. If you keep the windows shut against the planes, drying depends on the heating: turn it up for a few hours after the carpet cleaning and leave internal doors open so warm air reaches every room. To the east, St Stephen’s Road was laid out in 1880 by the architect W Hanley, and its conservation area is mainly late Victorian detached houses and semis. Around it are small, narrow Victorian terraces with shallow front gardens, denser terraces along Whitton Road and inter-war semis with deep gardens. Private renting is high, at 39.7% of households across the five Hounslow wards. One quirk of the postcode: the TW4 district runs into Richmond’s Heathfield ward, so a TW4 address may follow Richmond’s parking rules for the cleaner’s visit.

Carpet cleaning in Chiswick

Flats house 57.2% of households across Chiswick’s three wards, and the share living in flats made out of houses, 16.0%, is the highest of the Hounslow areas here. Along Chiswick High Road the building took off in the 1880s with the railway, and runs of three-storey terraces still line it; in a house of three floors the carpet cleaner does two flights of stairs, each at £41, and a landing at each level. The Glebe estate went up from 1868 to 1901 as plain terraces for artisans. Bedford Park, begun in 1875, has extra planning controls under an Article 4(2) direction, and its houses were designed without basements. W4 crosses council lines: Ealing’s Southfield ward and Ravenscourt ward in Hammersmith and Fulham share it, and Ealing even has part of Bedford Park, along the western side of both Woodstock Road and The Avenue. Before booking carpet cleaning, check which council issues your visitor parking.

Carpet cleaning in Brentford

Two thirds of Brentford households live in flats (66.8%), and nearly all of those are purpose-built (59.8%), the highest share of the Hounslow areas here. After 1945 the district gained six residential towers of 25 storeys, and in a tower the carpet cleaner takes everything up by lift, so mention the floor and any booking rules for the lift. At Brentford Lock West, a 520-home canal-side scheme, the second phase added 157 flats and townhouses by the end of 2018. A canal-side townhouse has its stairs spread over several floors, each flight priced as £41, or £29 for a short run. St Paul’s, the conservation area north of the High Street, keeps a late Victorian and Edwardian new town of terraces almost whole. A rug on the boards of a new flat stays put while it is cleaned; rug cleaning is £35 for a small one.

Carpet cleaning in Isleworth

Isleworth Riverside, the largest conservation area in Hounslow, still follows its medieval street plan, South Street and North Street with Mill Plat and Church Street, and some of its buildings go back to the 15th century. A street plan that old can leave the nearest legal space some way from the door; if yours is round the corner, tell us, and allow a few minutes more at the start of the carpet cleaning while the machine is carried in. The ward is 51.7% flats, nearly all purpose-built, with 29.2% of households in terraces, and 26.8% rent from a social landlord against 21.0% across the borough. In a terrace, the stair carpet carries the whole household’s traffic. In a flat the sofa is often the piece that needs it most: sofa cleaning is £57 for two seats, with each further seat at £26.

Carpet cleaning in Feltham

The council’s appraisal calls Feltham outer suburban. Trains arrived in 1848; growth came after the First World War, around a railway marshalling yard and factories that built aircraft and trams, and most of the housing dates from the late 1930s or the years after 1945. The houses there are mostly semis (32.5% of households) and terraces (25.2%), so most homes there come with a staircase and a landing to clean as well. The same appraisal describes Heathrow as dominating much of Feltham, in sound as well as in jobs. On a day when you would rather keep the windows closed, carpet cleaning still dries with the heating on and the room doors open. Purpose-built flats house 32.5% of households, among them New Chapel Square, 1970s flats that sit within the conservation area around Feltham Green. Dining chairs are £13 each, and the chair and settee cleaning page covers armchairs and footstools.

Carpet cleaning in Osterley

Osterley & Spring Grove is a ward of semis and private lets. Semis house 36.8% of its households and 35.1% rent privately, while only 6.7% rent from a social landlord. South of Osterley Park, the Great West Road set off suburban building on a massive scale by the 1930s, and the appraisal counts 1930s streets such as Jersey Gardens as part of the park’s setting. Between tenants, a let semi of that decade needs its bedrooms, living room, stairs and landing done, plus any mattress left in a furnished let. Spring Grove is older. It was Henry Daniel Davies who began it in the 1850s, nearly 300 acres of Victorian villas, and close to 100 houses had been built by 1877. Rooms in a villa of that age can be large, so the cleaner may measure a big drawing room and charge the floor at £3 a square metre for the carpet cleaning.

Questions about carpet cleaning in Hounslow

Can the carpet cleaner unload on a yellow line in Hounslow?

Yes, for up to 40 minutes on single or double yellow lines where no loading ban is marked, and in resident or pay-to-park bays without a time limit while loading goes on. After that the cleaner moves to a legal space, and if a parking charge comes up we pass it on at cost, up to £40.

My new-build flat in Hounslow cannot get parking permits. Is that a problem?

It means there is no visitor permit to use, so the cleaner finds a paid bay or a car park nearby, many of them payable by PayByPhone. Tell us when you book, and we add the cost of the parking to the bill, up to £40.

Which council’s parking rules apply to a W4 or TW4 address?

It depends on the street. W4 covers Hounslow’s Chiswick wards, plus Ealing’s Southfield ward and the Ravenscourt ward of Hammersmith and Fulham, while part of TW4 lies in Richmond’s Heathfield ward. Whichever council sends your council tax bill is the one you are under, and that council’s visitor permits are the ones the cleaner needs.
