More than half of Brent’s households are in flats, which is why carpet cleaning in Brent is often a living room at £43, one or two bedrooms and a sofa from £57, with the machine carried upstairs or brought up in the lift.
At the 2021 Census 56.7% of Brent’s 118,612 households lived in a flat. Purpose-built blocks accounted for 38.0%, and another 16.5% lived in a house that had been divided up, which is a high figure for London. Semi-detached houses came to 22.3%, terraces 14.9% and detached houses 6.0%. Renting is the larger part of the picture too: 36.0% of households had a private landlord and 23.5% were social tenants, while owners made up 38.4%.
For a carpet cleaner that adds up to a lot of upstairs flats, shared hallways and tenancies changing hands. It also means plenty of homes where the carpets are the landlord’s and the sofa is the tenant’s, so it helps to say on the call who is paying for what.
Shared stairs in Brent’s converted houses
When a Victorian or Edwardian house is split into two or three flats, the front door, the hall and often the first flight of stairs are shared. Those parts belong to nobody in particular, and they are usually the dirtiest carpet in the building. A communal staircase is £41 a flight, with £22 for the hall and £9 for each landing, and it can be booked by one flat, by all of them together or by the freeholder’s agent. The neighbours will need to use the stairs while the carpet dries, so pick a quiet part of the day and leave the street door open for air if it is safe to. Inside the upper flat there is often a second, private staircase, which belongs on that flat’s own list. The carpet cleaning price list has every room type, so each household can add up its share.
Visitor parking for the carpet cleaner in Brent
The machine, hoses and solutions come in from the cleaner’s car, so the car has to be somewhere legal for the length of the job. Brent sells visitor parking in controlled zones as RingGo sessions, bought by the resident for two hours, four hours or the whole day, with nothing to put on the dashboard. Hours differ between zones. Several are controlled on weekdays between 10 and 3 only, and the commonest pattern is weekdays from half past eight to half past six. E and W run seven days a week from 8 in the morning to 9 at night, and BV from half past eight until 10pm daily. Brent may remove a car still parked 30 minutes after it was ticketed, so the cleaner will not leave it in a bay without a session. The parking itself is recharged to you penny for penny, to a maximum of £40.
Rented flats in Brent between tenancies
Every Brent ward except Wembley Park is under selective licensing. Three wards started on 1 August 2023 (Dollis Hill, Willesden Green, and Harlesden and Kensal Green), and the remaining 18 on 1 April 2024, each designation running for five years. Brent has also licensed small shared houses, three or four sharers who are not one household, under an additional HMO scheme from 2 February 2026. Booked alongside an end of tenancy clean, bedroom carpets drop to £29 and the lounge to £36, since the cleaner is in the flat already. In a furnished let, add the sofa and the mattresses. Tenants booking a clean for their own deposit can do the same; the cleaner works to the rooms you list, and you agree the list on the call.
Carpet cleaning in Wembley
Renting dominates around the stadium. Six in ten Wembley Park households (61.9%) rented privately in 2021, more than in any other Brent ward, and just 14.0% owned their home. Much of that housing is new. By its own count, Quintain has finished close to 6,000 homes there, one in three affordable, and it describes the scheme as the biggest single-site build-to-rent development in the UK. Tokyngton, Wembley Central and Wembley Hill are all in selective licensing; Wembley Park is the only Brent ward left out. In a new flat with wood-effect or tiled floors, the cleaner can also do the hard floors, charged by area at £6 per square metre, along with a rug or the bedroom carpets. Check the calendar before booking carpet cleaning here. When the stadium has an event, only permit holders may park in the event day zone, on the main approach roads from 8am until midnight and on most other streets outside the controlled zones from 10am, which can leave the cleaner’s car with nowhere to stop.
Carpet cleaning in Willesden
Willesden filled up after the First World War, when factories opened and numerous flats and terraced houses were built for the people working in them. Conversions now match the blocks almost exactly: a third of Willesden Green’s households (33.0%) were in converted houses in 2021, and almost the same share (33.1%) in purpose-built blocks. A conversion flat on the top floor can mean a long climb with the machine, which is fine; mention the floor when booking and the cleaner allows extra time. Around the High Road shops, the Willesden Green conservation area dates from 1993. The ward went into Brent’s first selective licensing designation on 1 August 2023, and Roundwood joined in the second on 1 April 2024. For carpet cleaning in a rented conversion, the tenant’s armchair or dining chairs can be cleaned on that visit too, at £33 and £13 each, with the fabric tested first.
Carpet cleaning in Harlesden
Harlesden’s houses went up from late Victorian times to the 1930s, and most of its terraces are older than 1920; many of the flats here are those terraces divided up. The Stonebridge estate is the exception. More than 2,000 homes, mostly in high-rise blocks from 1967, were rebuilt after 2000 by the Stonebridge Housing Action Trust as two- and three-storey houses, with four-storey flats on the street corners. The rebuilt Stonebridge homes are therefore mostly houses with stairs, so the carpet list looks like any family house: hall £22, stairs £41, landing £9. Social renting is high (43.7% of households across Harlesden and Kensal Green and Stonebridge), and both wards are in selective licensing. For a busy family hallway, stain protection after carpet cleaning costs £33 for the room; it holds a spill on top of the pile for long enough to blot it, though nothing makes a carpet stain-proof.
Carpet cleaning in Kilburn
Kilburn High Road is the boundary between Brent, on the west side, and Camden, on the east, so the council changes as you cross the road, and with it the parking and licensing rules. Tell us which side you are on before the cleaner sets out. Brent’s side is described in the Kilburn Neighbourhood Plan, made in December 2025, as mostly Victorian housing with some sizeable social housing areas, and 88.2% of households in Kilburn ward live in flats. South Kilburn is being rebuilt: 1,954 homes are finished or under way, of which 1,239 are social rent homes, and Brent’s Cabinet agreed in October 2026 to appoint Ballymore for the remaining phases of more than 1,600 homes. In a furnished flat changing tenants, mattress cleaning is £35 a mattress, done in the bedroom. The ward also holds three conservation areas, South Kilburn (1979), Kilburn (1993) and North Kilburn (1994); in a period house there, put the stairs on the carpet cleaning list at £41.
Carpet cleaning in Queen’s Park
The houses around Queen’s Park went up from the north side of Harvist Road, most of them finished by 1899, and so many different builders worked on Kempe, Keslake and Chamberlayne Roads that no two stretches quite match. Room sizes vary with them, so if a front room is unusually large, measure it and the cleaner can price it at £3 a square metre. Queens Park ward had the highest share of terraced houses in Brent at the 2021 Census (27.8% of households), and 34.1% were in flats carved out of houses. It holds three conservation areas: Queens Park (designated in 1986), Kensal Green (1990) and Kensal Rise (2024). The older Queen’s Park Estate to the south is in Westminster, so check which council your street falls under for visitor parking. Full-length curtains are £42 a pair, cleaned on the rail, while the carpet cleaning goes on.
Carpet cleaning in Kingsbury
Kingsbury stayed rural until after the First World War. The parish had 140 inhabited houses in 1901 and 3,937 by 1931, and Slough Lane and Buck Lane still have timbered houses from the 1920s; the Buck Lane conservation area was designated in February 1979. Earlier still, Roe Green Village was built during the war as a garden suburb for workers at the Aircraft Manufacturing Company nearby, and it became a conservation area in 1968. Houses of that age have a full staircase and often a through lounge or two reception rooms: the stairs are £41 and a through lounge £61. Just over half of households across Kingsbury and Queensbury wards owned their home in 2021 (51.9%). Both wards are in Brent’s second selective licensing designation. Water here comes from Affinity Water, which classes it as very hard, and the machine is filled from your tap, so leave the water on for the carpet cleaners as well as the heating.
Carpet cleaning in Neasden
The North Circular Road opened in 1922 to 1923 and set off a wave of building in Neasden. The last farm went under houses in 1935 and Neasden Shopping Parade opened in 1936. Neasden has no ward of its own; for the figures here it is Dollis Hill and Welsh Harp. The streets around the 35-hectare Gladstone Park, in Dollis Hill, are mainly Edwardian terraces and 1920s and 1930s semis, which means a hallway and a flight of stairs in most homes, plus a kitchen-diner at £29 where it has carpet. Neasden Village became a conservation area in November 1987 and Homestead Park in 1993. Dollis Hill has been under selective licensing for longer than most of Brent, from 1 August 2023, with Welsh Harp following on 1 April 2024. For carpet cleaning in a semi with a three-seat sofa, the sofa cleaning price is £57 for two seats plus £26 for the third.
Questions about carpet cleaning in Brent
Can the carpet cleaner come on a Wembley event day?
The cleaner can work that day, but parking near the stadium is the problem, because the streets around it are permit-only for most of the day and evening. If you live in or near the event day zone, book a day without an event, or tell us on the call and we will plan around it.
Will Brent’s bulky waste service take an old carpet or mattress?
Yes, for a fee. One booking covers up to five items. Rolled carpet, underlay, mats and rugs go too, every roll counted as an item, though no booking can take more than two mattresses or bed bases. Whether a carpet is worth keeping comes down to the marks. Grey traffic lanes, spilt drinks and muddy footprints usually clean up, but a bleached patch, a burn or colour that has bled from a rug will not change.
Can a flat on the Camden side of Kilburn High Road be booked too?
Yes, the company covers every London borough. Say which side of the road you live on, because Brent’s RingGo visitor sessions only work in Brent zones, and on the east side Camden’s parking rules apply. The way the cleaning is done does not change.
